Finding joy in the little things

I initially came to Romania thinking I was coming here only to serve the kids and help put on a VBS for them, but being here the kids have served and shown me just as much. In Romania, through the kids the Lord has shown me to find joy in the little things. Before this trip, I would breeze over the little wins and good things in my life very frequently, but after being here and seeing the kids light up over the smallest things, it has been such an eye-opening experience. The kids we are working with here are kids with difficult family situations and are often overlooked, yet they still have so much happiness in everything they do. This has really inspired me to look for the good in everything, even in the harder times. The Lord has also shown me that even doing the smallest things can go a long way, for example, kicking around soccer balls with kids, high-fiving, or playing on the slip inside with someone, all feel like very bare minimum things, but to these kids, it was everything to them. Its unexplainable how much of a relationship you can build with someone who doesn't speak the same language as you in such short time but by the end of this week, they weren't just kids we were working with at a VBS, they were family, and that didn't happen in one sudden shift it was all the little things that bring joy to someones day or make someone feel loved.
