My experience here in Romania has been life-changing so far and has opened my eyes to things that I have doubted before. One of those things is that God uses his qualified people. I haven't believed that for the longest time because I always felt he would use his best people for certain situations, but the truth is, God doesn't work that way. I have realized that I view some of my qualifications differently than God does. The way that I view myself and things that I might not be as good at is influenced by the world, but what I have learned here in Romania is that God sees strength in our weakness and that what I view as something that I can't do, He uses that to make me grow. In our lives, we don't grow in times when our lives are cupcakes and rainbows; we grow in struggle and pain, and I believe that that is why God forces you to struggle through your unqualifications so that we can grow. I am so grateful that I can be someone who can provide a place for these kids to escape from their normal lives, where they are judged and looked down upon. When they are here, they can be kids, which is something that they can't do in their everyday lives, and I am so joyful that I can be the person who helps provide that. These kids also taught me that a relationship isn't based on the things that we say, but on our actions. Relationship isn't something that you need to put effort into, and you need to be intentional, and that is what truly builds a relationship. You don't need to talk to someone; you just need to show that you care. My time with the kids was short, but by the end of the week, I felt that I had built true relationships with them and that it wasn't just someone that I was playing with that left, but a true friend. I am looking forward to what else God has in store for me this coming week in our next VBS, and be praying for how I can best prepare and serve these kids
