Hello,
The team and I made it safely to Romania and we have finished our first week of VBS camp with the Romanian children. The week went really well with no major issues. We did not have any injuries or sickness amlung out team or the children. The VBS camp included a skit, craft, games, Bible verse memorization, and Bible story each day. After lunch there was free time to play in the yard where there is a zip line and a large tarp that we used for a slip and slide. One of the kids favorite games was dumping buckets of water on each other while we sprayed them with a hose. Our team was able to connect with the children despite the language barrier and many friendships were formed.
Next week we will be working with children from special needs orphanages. Monday and Tuesday we will be traveling to the orphanages and running a modified version of the VBS for the kids. On Wednesday the kids will come to the house so they can enjoy the zip line and water games.
A couple of prayer requests for the next week are:
1 For continued health and safety for use and the kids.
2 For our team to have energy for playing with the kids and patience with some of the kids who need special attention.
