My first trip to Romania was an incredible experience. It was heartening to see everyone connect with the kids and witness God’s love working through every student. Even though I was ill for part of the trip, I was grateful for the opportunity to bond with other team members who were also sick.
It was inspiring to see how these kids, despite having so little, were so grateful for what they had. Unlike back home, where we often crave new possessions like cars or gaming systems, they found immense joy in something as simple as eating shawarma.
I felt truly blessed to serve these children and to watch other students step up in their service. I’m thankful for the chance to connect more deeply with my fellow students and the Heart 2 Heart staff, learning about their stories and experiences. This trip has fueled my desire to participate in more mission trips in the future.
