After going on this trip to Tijuana, Mexico, I learned many key lessons. First, that team work is very important, especially if you have a large task at hand and not a lot of time to do it. My team of around 30 people were tasked with building a church and one house in no less than four days. Right from the start, we began working hard and got a lot done on the first and second days. However, the third and fourth day were much harder, especially after a few of our leaders had to return home. This didn't stop us from finishing what we set out to do. We worked harder than we did the first two days because we knew what needed to get done and the urgency and importance that we get it done quickly. Secondly, I learned perspective after going on this trip. Not only was this trip difficult physically, but it also tested me mentally and spiritually. I feel as if I gained a newfound understanding for what the people of Tijuana go through after being there for five days and seeing what they experience on a daily basis. It put my life and the things I take for granted in perspective, and made me realize that even though Tijuana is only around an hour and a half away from me, the people living there live a completely different life than I do. Overall, I really enjoyed this trip and learned a lot from living there and experiencing Mexican culture like I did, and I am very grateful for everyone who donated so I could go!

Thank you, Jacob, for sharing your experience in Tijuana with us. Team work is an appreciation for others' skills/abilities they bring and a great life lesson in how the Church (big "C") could better accomplish God's purpose if we looked at ourselves as co-workers "building" the Kingdom. I appreciate your taking some time to give us a report. It helps donors and prayer supporters to gain some insight and to feel appreciated/recognized for our small part in your life-changing experience.
