Meet our San Felipe Team

BIENVENIDOS TO SAN FELIPE

Emmanuel Faith Young Adults is excited to introduce you to our March 2024 San Felipe Team! It is crazy to think that we left for San Felipe less than 48 hours ago. We can not believe this moment has finally arrived. We would not be here spreading the Gospel without your support. Thank you for partnering with us whether that being through financial partnership or through partnership in prayer.

In Luke 10, Jesus sends out the seventy-two and he tells them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves." We're going out into a broken world that needs Jesus, and we may be the ones that are going, but you are the ones who enabled that to happen.

Just because you're not physically coming along the journey does not mean you don't play a part; we need your prayers! Pray for safety, good rest, and most of all that we follow the Lord in how He wants to lead us! We're going to be using this as a main way of communicating/providing updates. We'll also be sending out specific prayer requests throughout our time here as to give you an idea of how to be praying for us! Thank you so much for being a part of this mission!

OUR FIRST NIGHT
We are happy to announce that we arrived in Mexicali safe and sound our first day of entering Mexico. Two out of three cars we were driving did get stopped by border patrol for a check, but with much prayer and God’s hand protecting us we made it through and arrived to Daniel and Mariya’s home. This is where we stayed our first night and focused on team bonding.

After settling into the house, we left to catch a historical tour in the Mexicali Chinatown. On our way to the tour, Mariya was able to share the Gospel with Max, a college student in Mexicali. He has been exposed to both the Catholic and Christian church, but has not gone in a while due to feeling discomfort with the people and feeling like he does not have enough time. He is a law student who was selling Mexican candy to raise some money for his tuition. After Mariya lovingly evangelized to him, we all prayed over him as a team and gave him financial support to help with his tuition.

Later on in the evening at the end of our tour, our tour guide, Vanessa, caught us off guard as she told the whole group (our team and the other Mexican families on the tour) in English and Spanish how much Courtney’s shirt encouraged her and how she needed to hear that message from the Lord.

Courtney was wearing one of our young adult ministry t-shirts that had Psalm 50:15 written on it. This verse says “Call upon me in the day of trouble I shall rescue you.” This was so amazing because not only was God encouraging her through something as small as words on a shirt but also Vanessa was then sharing these words with the families around us on the tour. God is so intentional and so good! We had the honor of officially meeting Vanessa afterwards and chatting with her about what is going on in her life. We had the pleasure to pray over her and we would highly encourage and ask if you all can pray for Vanessa and Max as well.

We are posting same day photos and videos on our instagram. Feel free to follow us @youngadultsyefcc
